Following many shootings on a highway close to London on Saturday, there is a manhunt underway in Kentucky.

At around 17:30 local time (21:30 GMT), the incident started. When the police arrived, they discovered that nine cars had been shot at close to Interstate 75.
Five of the seven injured individuals are considered badly hurt, according to the Laurel County Sheriff.
No one has been killed, according to London Mayor Randall Weddle, and not all of the injuries were caused by gunfire.
Joseph A. Couch, 32, is regarded as armed and dangerous by the police, who have designated him as a person of interest.

Mr. Couch, a resident of Woodbine, Kentucky, is estimated to be 5'10" (178 cm) tall and weighs about 154 pounds (70 kg).
According to the officers, bullets were fired into cars going both ways on the highway.

I-75 was stopped for several hours due to the risk to oncoming vehicles.
The local media said that gunfire might have come from an overpass or from a forested area close to the roadway.
A video of Mayor Randall was uploaded to Facebook at around 21:30 local time. "The suspect or suspects have not been apprehended at this time, but they are searching for them," the mayor stated.

"Where they are currently, that is some rugged terrain and a lot of tree lines," he remarked.
Christina DiNoto, who was traveling on I-75 with a friend when the shooting occurred, described her ear injury as "it felt like a rock went through my back window" in an interview.
"We exchanged glances and wondered if there had been a gunshot. "No, that wasn't a gunshot," we say after that.
She claimed that they discovered there had been a shooting just one and a half hours later.
A portion of the highway near the scene of the shooting has reopened, the Mount Vernon Fire Department announced later on Friday. It had been closed for around three hours.

At least two people from the event have already been admitted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, a spokesman for the facility told, however no information was available regarding their conditions.
A representative for the Kentucky State Police, Trooper Scottie Pennington, advised the locals to remain indoors.
The public has been cautioned against approaching the person of interest.
The involvement of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives in the search was also verified.
The governor of Kentucky, Andy Beshear, had earlier stated on social media that police had "shut the interstate down in both directions" close to the scene of the incident.
He asked people to "pray for everyone involved" and advised them to stay away from the area.
London, which is next to the Daniel Boone National Forest, is a small city with 8,000 residents.
